Shannon Bartch Named Regional Leader for Sports + Recreation + Entertainment in San Francisco

Bartch has 15 years of experience as a project manager and designer of sports and recreation facilities.

Based in HOK’s San Francisco office, Shannon Bartch, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, has been promoted to regional leader for the firm’s Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice.

“Shannon has played a pivotal role in the design and delivery of a wide range of sports and recreation facilities,” said Nate Appleman, AIA, LEED AP, a director for HOK’s Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice. “Her diverse experience, combined with her commitment to understanding the needs of clients and communities, make her an exceptional leader for the region.”

While at HOK, Bartch has worked on projects including the AT&T Center renovation in San Antonio; Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, Nevada; and Levine-Fricke Field at the University of California, Berkeley.

Bartch was part of the HOK team that worked on the renovation of AT&T Center, a multi-purpose indoor arena in San Antonio.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to expand our Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice,” said Bartch. “I am passionate about the fan experience and designing spaces that are assets to their campuses, communities and cities. We will continue to draw on our firm’s deep, global expertise across markets to think creatively about the experiences we provide fans and athletes.”

“As an athlete herself and an excellent communicator, Shannon is a proven leader who understands how to manage, motivate and lead teams,” added Anton Foss, AIA, NCARB, managing principal for HOK in San Francisco. “She seamlessly integrates HOK’s disciplines and the many consultants required for complex sports projects to create venues that delight our fans.”

Bartch joined HOK in 2014 after its acquisition of 360 Architecture. Prior to that, she had played an integral role on the design teams for numerous professional arenas.

Bartch has a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver, and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego. Though originally from Los Angeles, she has called San Francisco home for the past 15 years. A lifelong athlete and sports fan, she continues to play recreational softball and soccer.
