Jerome Unterreiner, senior urban designer, joins Rae Smith, senior urban designer in San Francisco, to present “Living Streets” at the Urbanism Next conference in Portland at 10:15 a.m. on March 6.

Innovations in autonomous vehicle (AV) technology have the potential to inspire a quieter and greener pedestrian-centric streetscape.

3D laser scanning is becoming the design and construction industry standard for documenting existing conditions. Discover how laser scanning and modeling was used to document 18 buildings on a large medical campus at Washington University in St. Louis. Al Lyons, HOK’s information technology and communication (ITC) engineering director, will moderate the technology sessions as a conference chair of Passenger Terminal World Expo 2018 in Stockholm on March 20.

These sessions will include presentations and roundtable discussions from airports and airlines about how technology is used to improve travel experience and generate non-aeronautical revenues.

Al Lyons, HOK’s information technology and communication (ITC) engineering director, will present “Benefits from U.S. Department of Transportation Airport Cooperative Research Program” at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2018 in Stockholm at 2:30 p.m. on March 21.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Airport Cooperative Research Program invests millions of dollars annually in research to identify ways of improving airports. Al’s presentation will provide an overview of the program as well as information about how to propose topics for study, obtain copies of the research findings and participate in the program.
