Matthew Hern is the creative director of HOK Product Design. He fosters the company’s creative culture, leads our design vision and client relationships, and ensures continuity across the entire product design and development life cycle. He emphasizes human-centered design and solving cross-functional business goals, and his projects balance form, function and futurism.
Matthew, who has been focused on industrial design and product development for more than 25 years, previously held design leadership positions at firms including IDEO, BMW Group’s Designworks and Pentagram. His design teams have collaborated with clients including BART, BMW, Coca-Cola, JANUS et Cie, Motorola, Nike, Allsteel, Steelcase and Varian.
