Chuck Siconolfi

As HOK’s director of health care innovation + planning and design, Chuck Siconolfi has led the design of innovative healthcare projects that respond to the dramatic changes in the delivery of care. By simultaneously examining both the business and facilities of healthcare institutions, Chuck has developed a flexible long-range planning technique that helps clients strategically position themselves for success.

How do we design for better patient outcomes?

“The greatest potential is actually that we can deliver better outcomes, we can do it in fewer square feet per episode of care and we can do it at lower cost. We can do this because we work to understand the changes in the science involved in delivering patient care and we use software to model that. If our modeling finds that patients can spend less time at hospital, have fewer invasive procedures, take preventive measures or use pharmacological management, we can work with clients to reduce the building program and help them succeed.”
