The plan enables each division to maintain its own identity within the Hachette brand while promoting company-wide collaboration and a sense of community.
Using ‘the family’ as a metaphor for publishing divisions, the design draws on inspiration from a classic family home to create dedicated and shared spaces.
As a unique family member, each division has its own designated areas, such as meeting rooms and arrival points, that reflect its brand.
Spaces shared by all seven divisions include the reception, non-dedicated meeting spaces, the kitchen and break-out rooms. A shared pavilion café on the sixth floor takes advantage of the building’s outdoor space, extending through large glass doors to a 7,600-sq.-ft. landscaped rooftop terrace, complete with flowerbeds and grass areas with sweeping views of the London skyline.
The design creates an inviting, flexible and completely open work environment with many activity-based areas for individual and group work.
