“We are proud of our new science building because it utilizes the latest technology that is critical to student learning. In addition, the building is designed with the most efficient resources enabling us to live our 'green' and sustainable principles.”
The Science/Allied Health and Veterinary Technology Center includes science laboratories, lecture halls, healthcare training facilities and spaces necessary to support comprehensive veterinary technology training. It includes a major Outdoor Education Center that supports archaeology, geology and environmental science programs.
HOK’s team designed three standard lab modules of increasing size with flexible interior layouts that support the facility’s mission in several scientific disciplines.
The sweeping length of the floor plan connects existing veterinary support buildings at one end with links to the campus core at the other. The design draws students from a common parking area into the central entry atrium, midway along its arc, while bringing students from the campus core through the OEC. Interaction spaces display the scientific activity taking place within the building.
