The development is surrounded by an outdoor entertainment district that connects all destinations at the street level and via a second-floor promenade similar to New York’s High Line. Two residential towers are arranged around a central court, with underground retail, service and parking integrated into the design.
The outdoor entertainment district is positioned between the cedar forest park and the urban districts of the Wuhan CBD. The district’s streets and plazas are pedestrian-friendly. The porous boundary between the park’s edge and the new buildings creates physical and visual connections.
A historic Chinese lattice pattern informs the structure of the atrium skylight and plaza paving patterns, providing cultural meaning in a modern space.
