“HOK’s entire team has taken what I saw as an extremely tight construction budget and schedule and made this project a reality. The scheduling and day to day management, implementation and overseeing of administrative functions have been seamless.”
The annex houses the County’s E-911 communications center, emergency operations center and backup data center.
Located on a highly visible site, the building is surrounded by mixed-use businesses in a suburb northeast of Atlanta. Focusing the facades on material transparency and composition and omitting exterior cell windows helps express the building as a member of the commercial community.
The daylighting strategies create a tranquil interior environment and offset the high energy loads created by the 24-hour operations.
The project was delivered under budget and ahead of schedule. RossDrulisCusenbery was the associate architect.
