Located on the Stanford Hospital and Clinics north campus in Redwood City, the Infusion Therapy and Ambulatory Treatment Center integrates advanced technology in a nurturing environment that supports patients at various stages of their treatment.
The facility includes four private infusion rooms and 16 semi-private infusion bays supported by exam and consultation space, a pharmacy and an expanded clinical laboratory.
Natural light filters through floor-to-ceiling windows to brighten the interiors of the chemotherapy and infusion treatment center. The semi-private treatment bays are located along the perimeter, where they offer patients views of San Francisco Bay. The light interior colors and finishes include pastel greens, blues and wood.
The design of the infusion bays balances privacy, amenities, a sense of community and socialization. Modular construction and casework provide ultimate flexibility while contributing to a timeless environment that maintains visual interest for repeat users. The facility conforms to the strict infection control requirements of this vulnerable patient population.
Completed on a fast-track schedule, the project included a seven-month design phase and six-month construction phase, followed by two months of commissioning prior to occupancy.
