Kettering Health Network Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center

Beavercreek, Ohio

The team designed this full-service medical center, named after local philanthropists Indu and Raj Soin, to serve the long-term healthcare needs of one of Dayton’s fastest-growing suburbs. HOK’s design provides a serene, hotel-style environment that promotes health and well-being.

Expandable to up to 300 beds, the 131-bed hospital offers emergency care, general surgery, orthopedic care, cardiac care, labor and delivery, critical care, medical imaging and diagnostic services.

A “town square” anchors the hospital and provides clear wayfinding from the main lobby. All diagnostic and procedural areas, reception and waiting areas, inpatient elevators, a chapel and the emergency department are visible from this town square.

Views of the outdoors, including a pond and landscaped entry, help unify the building. An indoor water feature drops three stories to the lower dining area. From this dining area visitors can walk out to enjoy an outdoor terrace.

HOK also designed the adjacent medical office building, which includes offices for physicians and administrators, a cancer center and a conference center.
