A Start-Up Culture for an Established Company

MediaCom Headquarters
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

“They were great at grabbing what was in our heads and making it reality. Our office gets incredible feedback from our suppliers, clients and reps; it is a manifestation of what we think our image should be.”

Doug Checkeris
Former CEO, MediaCom Canada
from Interiors & Sources

How do you design a warm, hip, out-of-the-box space in a glass-and-steel office tower?

HOK’s design for MediaCom’s Toronto headquarters transforms two-and-a-half floors of a downtown office tower into a lively, inspirational workplace for a creative staff of 250. The space captures the spirit and intimacy of an upscale startup without compromising MediaCom’s identity and stature as an industry leader.

The open office floor plan encourages collaboration by placing every employee, including MediaCom’s CEO, in a 10’x10’ workspace. Offices are on the interior, allowing downtown views and natural light for all.

At the heart of the office, a custom, double-height bistro serves as a lunchroom, coffee station, communal hub, informal gathering space and large theater for client presentations.
