The master plan for this mixed-use project introduces a planetarium, science museum and a technology center to Austin’s capitol district. The densely organized development includes a 47-story residential tower, restaurants, gift shop, retail space and more than 1,000 underground parking spaces.
The Austin Planetarium’s location between the state capitol and University of Texas campus reinforces the museum’s urban and cultural significance. The design explores how the intersection of government and science can contribute to the making of a place and enhance its surroundings.
Together, the residential tower, planetarium, science museum and technology center create value through their adjacencies and shared address. In addition to attracting residents and campus traffic, the development is projected to draw more than 600,000 visitors to the city’s museum district each year.
