The guidebooks are helping DRES teams apply the LEED rating system to construction and renovation projects across the city.
A brief, whole-process narrative of the LEED building rating system outlines the process of setting up a project for successful certification.
An organizational matrix links essential LEED activities to the appropriate timing in the design and construction process. The guide includes detailed regional and DC-specific information, including relevant allowances or codes best suited for streamlining the certification process.
The books provide guidance for site work, demolition, new construction, interior build-outs, minor renovations and operations. They include recommendations for construction documents and specifications and a section outlining other resources available for assisting design and construction teams.
HOK is also developing policies to guide DRES’ pursuit of LEED certification for projects across its real estate portfolio.
