When our relationship with IBM began, it was 1964 and there were just 18,000 computers in the US. Our first project together was a collaboration-friendly research campus in the center of what today is Silicon Valley.
Since then, HOK and IBM have collaborated on more than 200 projects across four continents. The assignments have spanned the globe, drawing from all HOK’s services. Our understanding of IBM has enabled us to develop tools that streamline project delivery and help us create the most innovative solutions.
Embracing IBM’s motto, “THINK,” our teams have also collaborated on a range of strategic initiatives. We have researched the future of clean room technology and collaborated on a consulting program tied to alternative office strategies. We have benchmarked industry facilities, created the company’s first LEED-certified campus and helped IBM’s real estate teams understand how function affects space utilization. HOK’s teams have created IBM’s design guidelines, designed campuses all over the world, managed regional tenant improvements and designed manufacturing facilities.
Today, IBM and HOK continue working together in the US and EMEA. We are creating progressive, collaborative environments that will inspire innovation at IBM well into the future.
