Come Together

University of Southern Indiana Business and Engineering Center
Evansville, Indiana, USA

“I have personally led the planning for well over 50 major higher ed buildings over the course of my career, and this project stands out for the professionalism of the process, and the quality of the result. … Thanks for an excellent project and an excellent experience.”

Mark Rozewski
Vice President for Business Affairs, University of Southern Indiana

This building’s innovative program gives business and engineering students opportunities to collaborate and to benefit from each other’s unique perspectives.

Co-locating the Department of Engineering and the College of Business together in the new building was not accidental, said Dr. Scott A. Gordon, dean of the College of Science and Engineering. “In today’s world of technology, innovation, economic growth and new business development, it is critical that individuals in the business, technology and engineering worlds share important skills and knowledge.”

The new facility provides general classroom and specialized laboratory and instructional space, faculty and administrative offices, student study areas, computer laboratories and group meeting facilities.

The team designed the building to encourage cross-disciplinary innovation by serving both the business and engineering programs interdependently. The design provides dedicated classroom and laboratory space for each program while creating a shared central atrium.

The general classroom space and specialized laboratories support the academic requirements for USI’s engineering and manufacturing technology programs.

Hafer Associates of Evansville served as the project architect.
