Project Image

This building overlooks the Mississippi River on the site of Minneapolis's original settlement and first public square. The design respects the bank's tradition of stability, security and strength. The Federal Reserve's dual mission is expressed by dividing the facility into a seven-story office building with a 222-foot clock tower and a connected four-story operations center. The building combines brick (the primary material in the adjacent North Warehouse District) and indigenous Kasota stone with crisp, contemporary detailing in precast concrete. A curved glass wall faces a landscaped plaza, the river and the Hennepin Avenue Bridge.
