Greensource Features HOK’s Design of San Francisco Mint Conversion
As San Francisco looks toward 2020—the goal date for achieving 100 percent renewable electricity citywide—architects and planners will increasingly rely on existing structures. One project that combines several current sustainability strategies is San Francisco’s former United States Mint, which HOK is planning to convert into a history museum of the Bay Area with a new visitors’ center.
