HOK has appointed Andrew McMullan as senior project designer and vice president in its London office. As a senior design leader, McMullan works directly with Design Principal Larry Malcic to lead major projects and enhance the studio’s design culture.
“Andrew has honed his unique talents working with world-recognized designers and clients,” said Malcic. “He shares our client-oriented approach and brings fresh perspectives to our team.’
McMullan joins HOK from Heatherwick Studio, where he was a senior project leader and guided teams on several prestigious schemes including a major urban development in New York and a luxury residential tower in Singapore. Before that, he was a project architect at Allies and Morrison, where his projects included the masterplan for 2012 London Olympics park and the headquarters for Rothschild Bank in London.
“I’m delighted to join HOK’s team and honored to take this new role to help direct the firm’s future,” said McMullan. “With the rapid shifts in the demand for new workplaces and infrastructure and the ever-present dilemma of how to build enough homes for our changing population, these places must nurture a sense of humanity. I look forward to helping HOK respond to these challenges with imaginative, inspiring solutions.”
“Andrew is an award-winning designer with an impressive track record of managing large teams for high-profile clients,” added Daniel Hajjar, managing principal of HOK’s London practice. “His experience working on projects across a range of sectors, both in the UK and internationally, makes him an important addition to our team.”
