HOK’s Matt Breidenthal Named to Building Design + Construction’s “40 under 40” Class of 2017
The senior vice president and regional leader of engineering has been recognized for his career achievements, philanthropic work and service to his profession and community.
Since joining HOK, Breidenthal has helped greatly expand the firm’s engineering practice. His portfolio includes projects like the terminal modernization for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (below), Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s first-of-its-kind halo video board and LaGuardia Airport’s Central Terminal B.
Breidenthal has dedicated his career to advocating for interdisciplinary collaboration between architects and engineers. He guided the development of the firm’s proprietary software supporting this mission, HOK STREAM™. The software has saved millions of dollars in construction costs and accelerated portions of the design process by up to 70 percent, making possible several new design and engineering innovations.
He is the youngest member of HOK’s board of directors and only engineer on the firm’s marketing board. In addition, Breidenthal is actively involved with the ACE Mentor Program in Atlanta and the Center for Family Resources in Marietta, Georgia.
