Susan Klumpp Williams Named to HOK’s Executive Committee

HOK announced today that Susan Klumpp Williams, AIA, LEED AP, managing principal of the Washington, D.C., and Atlanta offices, has been elected to its six-person executive committee by the firm’s board of directors.

The executive committee is responsible for setting HOK’s overall strategic direction, enacting specific initiatives for continued growth and improvement, developing leaders and maintaining key client relationships. Klumpp Williams joins Chairman and CEO Bill Hellmuth, FAIA; President Carl Galioto, FAIA; Chief Operating Officer Tom Robson, AIA; Chicago Managing Principal Riccardo Mascia, AIA; and Chairman Emeritus Patrick MacLeamy, FAIA, on the committee.

“I am privileged to have worked side by side with Susan since 1993,” said Hellmuth. “She is an experienced leader who consistently delivers strong results. In addition to leading our successful D.C. and Atlanta offices, she has managed some of our largest, most complex projects. She will have an important role in guiding our overall business strategy and operations.”

In addition to leading HOK’s Washington, D.C., and Atlanta practices, Klumpp Williams, who joined HOK in 1985, is a member of HOK’s board of directors, leader of its management and managing principals boards and a member of the firm’s operations committee. She is currently leading HOK’s 3 million-sq.-ft. mixed-use Msheireb Downtown Doha Phase 4 project in Qatar. Previously, she served as principal-in-charge for the new 74-story ADNOC Headquarters project (above), which opened last year as the second-tallest building in Abu Dhabi. Klumpp Williams was principal-in-charge for the LEED Platinum certified D.C. Consolidated Forensic Laboratory and project manager for the LEED Silver certified Nationals Park, home to MLB’s Washington Nationals.

“I’m energized by this opportunity to help guide the firm’s trajectory, promote diversity and pursue innovation by achieving new levels of design and operational excellence,” said Klumpp Williams.

Klumpp Williams holds a master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia.
