HOK’s Dubai Office Distributes Care Packages to Local Construction Workers
For the HOK 24 / SIXTY initiative, HOK’s Dubai office led an “Aid to Build” program to collect and distribute care packages to construction workers in the region.
In partnership with local companies Al-Futtaim, ALEC and AFC, volunteers from HOK’s Dubai office coordinated donations, assembled materials and distributed care packages to 665 workers at construction sites around Dubai.
“The Aid to Build program was a way for us to thank workers for their hard work and contributions to the continued success of the building and development industry in the Middle East,” said Mark Streetz, HOK’s managing principal in the Middle East + Africa. “I want to thank our sponsors and volunteers for working together to make this event a reality.”
HOK handed out the care packages at pre-approved site locations around Dubai over two days. The bags included shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, hand towels, soup, tea and mobile telephone cards. Workers were surprised and grateful to receive the care packages.
