New Fly-Through Video for HOK’s Halifax Streetscape Revitalization Released
A new fly-through video shows how HOK’s Brunswick streetscape revitalization will meet the needs of community and commerce in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The revitalization of Brunswick Street will be a first step for the downtown core of Halifax to re-engage and reinvigorate older buildings with a new urban streetscape.
Three residential towers built in the 1970s and 1980s are the focus of HOK’s revitalization design. Each tower requires extensive improvements, which are highlighted by the addition of hospitality and residential components along the street. The plan addresses the condition of the street-level podium and updates the building facades to improve the street experience.
A retail and amenity strategy carves into the podium, breaking up the wall and opening the residential towers to the street. The space welcomes the public and residents, providing valuable retail and café space that creates a neighborhood feeling.
