HOK Names Darryn Holder Regional Aviation + Transportation Leader in London
Darryn Holder, RIBA, RAIA, has joined HOK’s Aviation + Transportation practice as senior vice president and regional leader in London.
A recognized industry leader, Holder brings 27 years of international planning and design experience to HOK’s A+T clients. He will focus on project opportunities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“As a talented designer and planner, Darryn adds strength, depth and international experience to our Aviation + Transportation practice,” said Daniel Hajjar, managing principal in HOK’s London office. “As our regional A+T practice leader for EMEA, he will support our objective of promoting design excellence and creating memorable, superior and efficient travel experiences for clients.”
Holder returns to HOK from Foster + Partners, where he was an associate partner. His extensive experience spans a broad range of projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His recent projects include terminal planning and stakeholder engagement on Phase 2 of Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, and concept design through to construction stages for phase 1 & 2 of the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan. Prior to Foster + Partners, Holder was a senior associate based in HOK’s London office and worked on a variety of aviation projects for clients including Heathrow International Airport in London and Cork Airport in Ireland.
Holder is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and Royal Australian Institute of Architects. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.

HOK’s Aviation + Transportation group designs high-performance passenger terminals, stations, intermodal facilities, automatic people mover systems, light rail systems and other transportation amenities. The firm creates exceptional passenger experiences while increasing value for owners and tenants by boosting revenue streams, improving operational efficiencies and minimizing the impact on the environment. Recent projects include the Hamad International Airport Passenger Terminal Complex in Doha, Qatar; King Khalid International Airport Development and Expansion in Riyadh; LaGuardia Airport’s New Terminal B Project in New York City; Astana International Airport Terminal Development in Kazakhstan; Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 Phase 2 & 3 Options Studies; and the Gatwick Airport Capital Investment Program.
