IIDA Welcomes HOK Product Design’s Susan Grossinger
The International Interior Design Association’s International Board of Directors has welcomed Susan Grossinger, senior vice president and director of HOK Product Design, as a professional member of the association.
IIDA is a commercial interior design association that advocates for advancements in design excellence to increase the understanding of interior design as a profession that creates business value and positively impacts the well-being of people who inhabit built environments.
Led by Grossinger, HOK Product Design has helped launch more than 30 products and is developing 35 more within the healthcare, lighting, urban planning, furniture and finishes, safety, and sustainable design sectors. The products, designed for a wide range of manufacturers, have received honors including Best of NeoCon Gold, Silver, Innovation, and Editors’ Choice awards; a Nightingale Healthcare Design Award Silver; and an International Design Award Gold. The firm has received three design patents, three utility patents and has two patents pending for its products. Prior to leading HOK Product Design, Grossinger served as director of interiors for HOK’s Los Angeles office for 15 years.
“Susan is a tremendous asset to the profession and critical to the interior design industry,” said Cheryl Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP, executive vice president and CEO of the IIDA. “She is talented in a multidisciplinary way that speaks to the true future of design.”
“I am so honored by this acknowledgement of my contributions to interior design,” said Grossinger. “Under Cheryl’s leadership, IIDA has done so much for the profession, raising the bar for how people think about interior designers. I will value this membership throughout my career.”
