AIA Houston Chapter Recognizes HOK’s Komal Kotwal
Now in its second year, the Associate Member of the Year award recognizes an architecture intern who has made significant contributions to the chapter. Kotwal serves on the AIA Houston board of directors as intern and associate director. She has chaired the intern/associate network and the AIA Houston Urban Design Committee. She also has also been active in all of the Houson AIA’s environmental activities, including serving on the Committee on the Environment (COTE), the Gulf Coast Green Committee and the 2030 Committee.
In 2013, because of her unique path to licensure as an architect licensed in another country, the Texas Society of Architects appointed Kotwal to a national task force studying the current path to licensure.
