Please be aware that businesses around the world, including HOK, are monitoring an increase in recruitment scams.
Unscrupulous individuals are contacting job seekers and pretending to represent HOK or specific individuals at HOK in making phony employment offers. These fraudsters use emails, texts, letters, faxes and phone calls to offer employment with HOK. The offers, which often appear to be legitimate and use HOK’s logo, can include specific details about the job description and conditions, salary, benefits, training and start date. These jobs do not exist and the job offers are not real.
The fraudsters often ask for payment to process documents or to initiate job training. They also may request bank information or use questionnaires asking for personal information that could enable them to commit identity theft.
What You Should Know
- Neither HOK nor our third-party, authorized recruiting partners will ever ask for payments of any kind—or personal information such as bank account details—as part of the recruitment process. Never send money or personal details to any individual or entity suggesting they can provide employment with HOK.
- All emails from HOK’s people end in @hok.com. Messages from fraudsters often come from webmail addresses such as gmail.com, hotmail.com and yahoo.com, or from addresses that incorporate part of a company’s name, such as hokcorporation.com.
- Before making an employment offer, HOK will always invite prospective employees, either by phone or email from a legitimate HOK email account, to a formal, in-person interview.
- Messages from fraudsters often contain spelling and grammatical errors.
If you receive unsolicited or suspicious offers of employment with HOK, or simply want to verify the authenticity of an offer from HOK, you are advised to immediately stop all communication with this individual or “agency.” Forward the unedited email message or details of the offer to HOKContact@hok.com.
HOK treats these incidents of fraud seriously and, as appropriate, reports them to law enforcement agencies. We encourage you to do the same.
